Chair of the Senate of Kazakhstan arrives in Tashkent – Legislation Research Institute

On 3 June 2021, Chair of the Senate of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbaev arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit.

First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sodik Safoyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Darkhan Satybaldy and other officials met the high-ranking guest at Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov.

The Chair of the Senate of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbaev laid flowers at the Monument of Independence and Humanism in Tashkent.

A meeting was held with the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva.

The parties considered issues of further development of cooperation in transport communications and transit traffic, labor migration, water use, culture, education, gender equality. The parties welcomed the opening of the Consulate of Kazakhstan in Samarkand and the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the city of Shymkent.

 

The issues of developing and enhancing cooperation were also discussed, including the development of relations between specialized committees, promotion of joint initiatives within the framework of international parliamentary structures, as well as several other international organizations, issues of establishing interregional cooperation between deputies, active development of the legal framework, ensuring the implementation of practical measures aimed at mitigating the negative consequences of the pandemic.

Following the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Institute of Problems of Legislation and Parliamentary Studies of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Institute for Parliamentarism under the Parliament of Kazakhstan.
